- 01Good question! Cambodia was not initially on our radar, even though Anna Joy grew up in Southeast Asia and had been there before on a mission trip. We interviewed at multiple missionary training hospitals in other parts of the world, but the doors kept closing. To hear the Lord's voice, Nate and Anna Joy took a weekend to fast from technology and pray in a rural Arkansas cabin and stumbled upon MMCC. After meeting with the leadership and truly admiring their philosophy, vision, and model of care, we felt God's peace to embark on the 30 hour trip to Cambodia for a vision trip. As we took each step of faith, the Lord just kept opening the next door for us. The rest is history!
- 02Our long term vision aligns with MMCC’s vision of a fully Cambodian led and staffed missions training hospital. As we raise up excellent local physicians, we hope to see them in positions of leadership with high levels of cultural and linguistic competency. As local staff take on leadership positions within the hospital, it will open up opportunities for us to explore ministry opportunities throughout the country.
- 03Yup! Anna Joy went on a mission trip in 2011 with some friends, but little did she know that she would one day return. In 2024, Nate, Anna Joy, and two of their children went on a vision trip to visit the hospital and the surrounding areas. They began to feel God's strong calling to return as staff physicians with their entire family.
